The system can be provided with or without monitor, keyboard, or mouse at your option.

Video and audio must be connected into the video capture hardware. This may require an distribution amplifier (single DA provided) or an optional routing switcher, and a bunch of cables.

Audio output can be monitored to verify presence of input signals. A separate audio card provides output for regular computer sounds or playback of encoded files.

The network jack should be connected to your office network and assigned an IP network address that can be accessed from the Internet. Your office network should be connected to the Internet through a broadband connection. For live webcasting, your output will travel the Internet to reach the servers you will be using to serve multiple viewers. For best results use iStream’s StreamServer, or iStream’s StreamHosting Service.

For encoding of video-on-demand files, and the captured archives of live webcasts, you typically use FTP to transfer the files to a video-on-demand server, or you may choose to record the files on a CD-ROM for a physical hard copy.

The system is optimized for these streaming file formats which are also suitable for laptop playback. There is no assurance that the system would work satisfactorily with other file formats or support other software.
