Pleora EtherCast
Real-time, High-quality, transport of DVB-ASI and SD/SDI video over Ethernet - HDV also available!

Pleora’s EtherCast PL1453 Video IP Engine is a palm-sized, affordable device that reliably transports SD-SDI,
SDTI (SMPTE 305M), or DVB-ASI digital video in real-time over standard Ethernet networks.
This high-performance engine is ideal for transporting SDTV and HDTV content over managed Layer 2 VLANs,
which cost considerably less to lease or own than the facilities traditionally used to transport broadcast quality video,
such as satellite links, ATM networks, or SONET/ SDH networks.

The engine auto-detects incoming DVB-ASI or SD/SDi video signals, converts them quickly and efficiently to IP,
and pumps them live over a managed Ethernet LAN/WAN. Ancillary data in the video stream, such as digital audio
and timing information, is also converted. Multicast transmission is fully supported, enabling the same video stream
to be distributed simultaneously to multiple destinations.

Pleora’s EtherCast PL4453 system does not compress or decompress the signal, and there are no video quality
compromises. Jitter control is exceptional, transfer is lossless, and end-to-end latency is low and predictable.
Any packets dropped by the network are automatically recovered.

The EtherCast PL1453 Video IP Engine is supported by the EtherCast Configuration Utility (ECU) –
a comprehensive management utility for configuring and managing multiple EtherCast systems deployed at different
sites through a WAN or VLAN. The ECU also offers advanced network and status monitoring.

The PL1453 Video IP Engine is based on the field-proven IP engine technology offered in Pleora’s other EtherCast
transport products and its world-leading line of iPORT™ products for vision applications.
